SHEVA AND GOLF

Having reached the pinnacle in one sport, Sheva has turned to the challenge of another; developing a passion for golf. He first discovered the lure of the greens playing with former Milan team-mate Oliver Bierhoff and in a short period of time his curiosity had turned into a real dedication to the game. He now shares his number seven shirt number with his golf-handicap rating.

Those who witnessed the early swings maintain they were a danger to anyone in the near vicinity and recall a story where on holiday in Barbados a Monkey raced on to the course to steal the ball to avoid any personal harm! While still at AC Milan, when he had a few days free, Sheva travelled to the famous St Andrews course in Scotland to undergo some special coaching from top player Vijay Singh. Sheva then took part in the Milan Golf Tour and, with wife Kristen, flew to the United States to watch the US Open at Pinehurst and then to New York, invited by Sergio Garcia, to partner Alex Ceika in the Pro Am Burkley Classic.

Since joining Chelsea Andriy has played at a number of Europe's leading course's including Wentworth we he has enjoyed a round with Ernie Ells and met with Tiger Woods at the 2006 World Match Play.
