Children represent our future.
We have the responsibility to give them
the best possible start in life not just in the name of innocence but above all, to benefit moral progress. 

The ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO Foundation is operating full time as a charity and is managed by the player’s sister, Elena.The Foundation’s main aim is to improve the life of all needy children and orphans in Ukraine. Projects involve the refurnishing of existing orphanages, the donation of modern hospital equipment and the training of hospital staff, doctors, social workers and qualified psychologists. 

Around one million euro was raised at a benefit match on May 31, 2005 at the San Siro stadium in Milan in front of 40,000 spectators, with Diego Armando Maradona and actor Richard Gere lending their support. The match represented also the inaugurationf of the Andriy Shevchenko Foundation.
Andriy Shevchenko captained the Golden Team for Children which, above many famous football players, fielded a number of stars from other sports including tennis star Andrei Medvedev, gymnast Yuri Chechi and boxer Wladimir Klitschko. The opposition was provided by the National Italian Singers select in what was billed The Game of the Heart 2005. The proceeds raised were divided between the Andriy Shevchenko Foundation, Richard Gere’s Foundation to support children in Tibet and Milan Charitable Association “Anima”. 

Current work in progress: 

The Pediatric Regional Hospital in Bojarka city (83 Karl Marx St). In 2002, a donation of a fully-equipped ambulance for newly-born babies was made.

A fully operational boarding school for orphaned and needy children in Pereyaslov Khmelnitskiy (49 Grushevskogo St). 
 
A fully operational boarding school for orphaned and needy children in Volodarka, Kiev Region (1 lesnaya St)
